Anyone here actually purchased a new OM-1 and can comment on it's performance. I am not interested on Nikon, Sony, Canon etc... owners commenting on WHY their choice is a better choice. Would like to hear more about some of the computational modes etc... from actual users here. I read the reviews, but wondered what actual hog users think . Thanks for posting and taking the time if you are familiar with this camera. I already have EM-1 and really need another body... Had kind of decided on EM-5 for value/price but now am thinking again which can be dangerous and costly. Thanks again... Bob

I ordered OM-1 on 2/15/22 and received it 2 weeks ago. I only tried 3 times on 2 weekend, I like it. I bought OM-1 with 12-40mm F2.8, and 100-400mm lenses. The first time, I tried portrait, and like the result. The second time I tried bird AI, get bird in fly that I could not get with my Olympus PEN-F (This is the reason that I bought OM-1). Yesterday, I tried animal AI to photograph my dog running, also good result. I use M4/3 for the light weight. OM-1 is not as light as PEN-F, but it has all functions of new cameras in the last 2 years. Financially, it is as good as you can get with those functions. It cost about $5000 for the camera and 2 good lenses.

Pany, really like the look of your pumpkin couple. Creative idea very well staged and the almost low key lighting really makes it work. What's the surface you staged them on? Sets off the pumpkins nicely. Must have taken some time to put it all together as well. Good job, good show.

BTW, check out my pumpkins on p 38. Hint, the title of the image doesn't refer to the pumpkin on the left.

Sorry, I reply to wrong person for your pumpkins on p38, great work for pumpkin light! I know how difficult to cut them.

Great picture! May I ask where is the location to see King Penguins? I will go to Falkland Island in 3 weeks. I found there are many penguin tours. I do not know which one is the best to photograph penguins.

Brent I really love the four kids but all of your photos are just great. Each is a reflection but different from the others. Well done sir.

I agree No. 7 is the most artistic one, but I will put No. 6 on my wall for the color, youth, and happiness.

Thanks for everyone’s advice! Especially thanks for photogirl17 posting this photo analysis link for me.

The water tower is an oversized ketchup bottle in our local ketchup manufactory that closed many years ago, as roxiematy wrote here, Books Tangy Catsup. Every time I drove by, thought about to take a photo but there is no public parking nearby. Two month ago in my photography class, my homework assignment was using ISO more than 6400 to take photos. I was driving home to the east direction, facing a large full moon. I thought that I could take a night photo with ISO 6400, the full moon on the top of the ketchup bottle would be interesting (like photo No 3). When I got there, found that the moon was below the bottom of the ketchup bottle. I went to a coffee shop to kill couple hours, returned to the site, the moon was still too low. In addition to the moon position was not right, the most difficulty was that I could not focused both the water tower and a moon sharp enough in the same image. Therefore, I decided to shot them separately, then Photoshop to put them together. This is the story of those photos.

When I put the moon on the top of the ketchup bottle (No. 3) as I original photo conception, it did not feel right, no humor, and unbalanced because the light reflection was on the bottom of the left side ketchup bottle. The ketchup bottle felt like will fall to right. Therefore, I put the moon on the right as photo No. 2 to balance it so the photo looked more real. However, the photo was boring. At the end, I submitted photo No 1. as my photo homework of the week. I did not know if I choices the best one or not. However, I felt the photo had my intention to emphasize an unusual water tower as a big ketchup bottle.
