I read on the news yesterday that food prices are starting to come down. Am glad to read that and hope it continues.
We go to a small neighborhood pub and get 2 burgers and 1 order of fries and a 4 Blue Moon drafts - used to run about $25, now it’s running $35. Not sure if the prices will drop as the wholesale prices drop, but the same meal in a regular chain restaurant will run over $50 so we’re still doing good.

Prices aren’t coming down, the rate of inflation is slowing so they won’t rise as fast. Not very many items will ever be cheaper except seasonal crops.

I shoot with both a Pixel 6 and an iPhone 4. Neither delivers images as good as the Powershot nor Cybershot cameras I've also used. A phone is fine, but a dedicated camera, even a pocket model, will typically deliver better images and image files easier to edit.

My wife has an Apple iPhone 14 and it is incredible for photos. She is not technical, but has a good eye, and sense of balance and design in her photos. She never has to edit and never prints, although the quality is there, she is more interested in posting her adventures online with her friends and family. I have a number of quality cameras she could use but prefers to have her phone in her purse or pocket instead of an heavy weight around the neck. . It doesn’t hurt that she takes me places where we can stand in front of interesting stuff.

Yes it is rather sad that the trump cultists have been so gullible as to believe all of the lies which trump has uttered, knowing full well that the cultists would easily fall for those lies.

Lies which include falsifying business records!

Remember that trump uttered these words: "I love the poorly educated"

Do you have the infrastructure of a small business already in place? It's illegal, and practically impossible to get away with, working "under the table" any more. Government at all levels will come after you for taxes, reporting, licensing, etc. Your personal bank will not cash or deposit checks that appear to be anything other than personal. You want the liability protection of an LLC? That's another can of worms and administrative costs and headaches.

Do yourself a favor and do this for free, with the proviso that he has to sit with you and learn post processing for himself.

They must be pretty bored at the IRS if they can chase after some guy who makes a couple bucks doing something his friend offers to pay for. Don’t tell the neighbor kid that mows a couple yards each week to save up for his first car. Will I have to hire an accountant to keep track of what I pay him? What is the minimum amount, paid in cash, to generate the necessary records and reports. My friend is coming over with his log splitter to help with a log pile waiting to go into the woodshed. My wife will feed him breakfast and lunch, should she give him a 1099? I’ll pay him for the use of his machine and a few bucks for his labor. Now do I need a 1099? There are mountains and there are mole hills. Don’t confuse the two for fear of the government.

Palouse Falls is far from obscure! Leave your car at the State Park lot and walk a short ways to an overlook. Double check distances to see if it makes sense within your travel plans.

Crowds? Are they kissing? There is a video of a guy going over Palouse in a kayak. At 200’ +/- it would be a thrilling way to set some sort of record. Also, if you can go to Soap Lake. Wind brings what look like soap suds on the surface. Some say it’s therapeutic although most are skeptical of that claim.

Quick update: I spoke to the personal injury lawyer today. She sent me an intake form to complete, and we will go from there. Just want this to be over!

Relax—- these things take time. Let your Attorney do the worrying.

They associate the two as being 'victimized'. That is the real issue. For them, hamas is a resistance organization, not a terrorist outfit. Many do not even know about the terrorist attack that started it all.

They are useful i***ts. Their knowledge is based upon the Hamas playbook. Professors are giving extra credit for attending protests and the Jewish kids can’t attend classes. We are in very troubled times.

No parking at the Texas Capital Bldg?

Probably not much parking in Juneau since you can’t go there except by plane or boat.

Go talk to an attorney or two. Won’t cost you anything and you will know after the initial consultation if you want to hire one. Attorneys of take cases on a contingency basis. They get a piece of the settlement by you will probably come out with a more reasonable settlement. A very good attorney will charge the same as a crappy one. Choose the best. Advertising doesn’t make the attorney better. If you have someone whose judgment you trust. Good luck and speedy recovery.

Listen to the young educated minds, our future , they have more feelings for 35,000 Palestinians ( human beings ) , 70 percent women and children, than adults , who don’t have feelings snd don’t understand the pro Palestine protests ! Just like Vietnam protests ! Please Stop k*****gs !

The anti war prostrate during Viet Nam cost the Soviets about $50 million a year. More non students arrested than students. Wonder how much this is costing and who is paying the bill.

They seem to have been product presentation/advertising photo practice and he used the gun collection as the subjects.

My inner mean little kid wants to start posting pictures of guns, better yet, me holding guns. I know I have pictures from Vietnam in a storage box I can scan.

Better yet, show a photo of a kid shooting a gun. That’ll light the hair on fire.

The pittance I would earn on my overpayment isn’t worth worrying about. Coming up with $ is aggravating given the ineptitude of govt. What we did was file single, no dependents to pay in the max contribution then file jointly listing all the dependents for the max refund. The size of the refund determined the nature of the family vacation. Small refund camping on the beach, a bigger one stay in a resort or whatever. I know that’s economically unsound but the interest I didn’t earn isn’t as bad as the vacations were good.

BnH has a 30 day return policy. I’m sure it would cost less to pay the return shipping than to rent the lens for a couple of weeks.

Would you do that? Would you do that to a friend who owned a business or just strangers?

That's true of a lot of antique things. I probably bought 10 used tractors over my farm career. Every one cost me more than the original owner paid for the new tractor. Inflation. The cost of a tractor is the maintenance, not the capital. You could probably make a similar statement for almost every antique thingy you use on a regular basis. A friend had a number of antique cars that he drove regularly. He had to maintain a machine shop to do maintenance (making your own replacement parts, including bearings and brake pads).

On the other hand, I had a John Deere model B tractor. They were made from about 1935 until 1952. In the '90s I could still get parts for them. 10 years is old for a car. 50 years is middle age for a tractor.

The back you describe is in a FilmPack that Kodak prepared for 4x5 cameras. There are roll film backs for 120 (2 1/4”) and also a Polaroid back in addition to the film holder for 2 shots as well as a Polaroid back. One of the significant prints I have displayed was taken on a Crown Graphic by Bernice Abbott. It is of the Flatiron building in NYC. She wrote an excellent article in “The Graflex Camera” The shot is an illustration in one of the editions of the book.
