I have used the Magpul with a Nikkor 500mm f/5.6 PF and a 200mm f/4 micro-Nikkor rig with flash. I have switched back to my previous carry system that uses an Arca/Swiss compatible clamp, the reason being a failure of the bearing in the pin that caused a drop to the floor of the 500mm and attached camera. Luckily, the 12 inch drop was on a rug and caused no damage. You can see a detailed discussion on the Nikonians website under the Camera Carry & Apparel forum.
